Use QR Codes to Promote Your Trail Guides
(Scan this QR Code to view pub route guides from CAMRA)
It is now easier to promote your ViewRanger trail guides, especially on-site or through printed materials. You can now generate a QR Code for any route guide that you publish and a QR Code for your ViewRanger profile page (where all your published routes are collected together).
You can then embed the QR Code in a blog post, include it in a magazine or on a tourist information leaflet, or print it out for use on signage.
When scanned with a QR Code reader on an Apple or Android smartphone or tablet, you will be taken directly to that specific route (or profile page). On Android phones, if you have the ViewRanger app installed then the app will be run and will go directly to that route/profile.
Using QR Codes to Drive Reader Downloads
Elevation Outdoors, the essential magazine for the Rocky Mountains outdoor lifestyle, is already using ViewRanger QR Codes in each issue of their magazine to make it easier for readers to download Elevation Outdoors trail guides to their smartphones and tablets.
See how Elevation Outdoors are using QR Codes here.
Generate Your Own QR Codes
You'll find "Generate QR Code" buttons on your My.ViewRanger home page and on your published route pages. (See below).
Scanning QR Codes
You'll need a QR Code scanning app on your Android or Apple device. You can download one from your app store.
On Android phones, if you have the ViewRanger app installed then the app will be run and will go directly to that route/profile. If the ViewRanger app is not installed, then you will be taken to the relevant my.viewranger web page.
On Apple devices, you will be taken to the relevant my.viewranger web page where an "open in app" button will be shown.
