Easier to Share Your Outdoor Adventures

We're making it even easier for ViewRanger users to share their outdoor adventures, where and when they happen with

  • better track pages
  • more track stats
  • bigger photos and a new photo lightbox
  • social commenting
  • and simple tap-to-share features within the app

We've updated the my.viewranger website with brand new Track pages, and also released ViewRanger V4.1 for Android which makes it a snap to tweet, facebook, and share your adventures right from within the ViewRanger app.

ViewRanger’s ‘TripStories’ feature allows users to record GPS tracks of their outdoor experiences, whilst simultaneously creating a dialogue with geotagged photographs and tweets. The TripStory can then be shared with friends or fellow enthusiasts, who can also comment on the track through the my.viewranger website or through the ViewRanger app.

More track stats including stats for uphill and downhill

New features of my.ViewRanger.com

  • TripStories are now displayed with a much larger map.
  • Pictures associated with TripStories are more prominent on the website and can be scrolled through via a Lightbox.
  • More Track stats - including speed, distance, and time for uphill, flat, and downhill sections of the trip

Follow Your Friend's Adventures in-app via Activity Feed

In-App Activity Feed

We have launched the ViewRanger Activity Feed in Android, Apple, and Blackberry apps, to make it easier to follow the adventures of your friends, discover the latest routes created by your favourite publishers, and more.

The Activity Feed shows the latest updates for ViewRanger users you Follow (or Favourite).

  • It will show you when they publish new routes.
  • It will show you the latest recorded gps tracks that they have shared.
  • It will tell you when you can follow them live – via BuddyBeacon – when they are out exploring.

A simple tap on the activity item will open that route in your ViewRanger app, show your friend’s latest BuddyBeacon position on your map, or let you see and comment on their latest recorded adventures.

Click on read more below to find out how to Follow friends and add publishers to your Activity Feed.
