Roanoke Outside adds hiking guides to ViewRanger

ViewRanger and Roanoke Outside have teamed up to provide detailed outdoor maps and hiking guides for the Roanoke, Virginia area.

Roanoke Outside is a charitable organization designed to help outdoor recreation enthusiasts find places to explore and post events in the Roanoke Region of Virginia. The recent ViewRanger partnership now brings trail and map content to countless mobile devices.

Roanoke Outside has added more than 40 hiking guides to the ViewRanger publishing platform, which are instantly compatible with the latest smartphones and smartwatches. Roanoke will also embed interactive trail maps on their website at

“ViewRanger easily allows us to bring trail content to locals and visiting tourists so they can explore the amazing wild lands around Roanoke,” said Pete Eshelman, director at Roanoke Outside. “Each guide and related maps can be downloaded and followed on a mobile phone or watch.” 

Roanoke Outside guides can be found online at or in the free ViewRanger app on the Apple App Store or Google Play. More than 650 publishers, travel agencies, and parks across the globe have added outdoor content to the ViewRanger platform.
