ViewRanger looks to OWPG for inspirational outdoors photography

Posted on 12/11/2014

When we doubled our office space earlier this year, we took it as a well-deserved opportunity to (re-) decorate, and being ViewRanger, we wanted to line our walls with images of outdoor adventures and recreation which would inspire the whole team to create the best outdoor app possible. To do this, we sought the help of the Outdoors Writers and Photographers Guild.

The OWPG is the only UK-based association of media professionals working largely or entirely on outdoor subjects, and comprises writers, authors, photographers, bloggers, film makers, journalists, artists, editors etc. specialising in sustainable outdoor activities and the outdoor world.  In fact, according to their Constitution, members must be: “actively and professionally involved in sustainable activities in any outdoor setting.”

In the end we bought twelve prints from nine different photographers, protraying beautiful natural landscapes and scenes of their close ones enjoying a range of outdoors activities, such as ice climbing, mountain biking, caving, cross-country skiing... What more could we ask for as inspiration?

Here are the photos that we now get to enjoy every day.
