ViewRanger has confirmed it will sponsor the new Something Wild Trail Running Festival 18-20 September.

This new, family-friendly running festival is a fantastic concept and one which ViewRanger is proud to support.  The inclusive nature of the event which helps more people to get active outdoors and fosters the spirit of adventure makes it a perfect partner for ViewRanger.”

Bristol Race_sm.jpgBased at River Dart Country Park, Dartmoor, the festival is a new weekend for running lovers comprising

  • a wild marathon
  • a half marathon
  • a 10km trail run
  • a children’s run alongside the picturesque River Dart
  • a Forest School session for children aged 3 to 11, including bush skills
  • a film night
  • communal dinner and presentation ceremony, with a late bar.

Ceri_WildRunning_pic.pngSomething Wild is the brainchild of Ceri Rees, founder of Wild Running, which aims to create an outdoors haven for runners or would-be runners who get a buzz from expanding their horizons off-piste.

He also organised the Wild Dart Swim on 22 August which helped to raise funds for the RNLI, as well as the Wild Night Run and other activities.

Talking about ViewRanger, Ceri said:
I have used ViewRanger extensively in the last year while trail running and to plan routes for the Something Wild festival and to measure the Wild Dart swimming route.

ViewRanger is a fantastic app with a wealth of features that are easy to use. I’d recommend it to anyone planning new routes or those who just want to get out and explore.
