Version 2.5 of the ViewRanger software can be downloaded below. The current software build number is 2.5.12 and the current manual version is 2.5.1.

The changes in this software release are detailed in the Release Notes in the Support FAQ.

The ViewRanger software is provided as a SIS file. To download click on the green link. In some browsers you may need to right click and choose Save As.

There are three different versions of the ViewRanger SIS file to choose from. If your phone is S60 2nd edition based there is one version - see the list of phone models below if you are unsure whether your phone is 2nd or 3rd edition. For S60 3rd edition phones there are two versions available, the difference being the mechanism they use to access the GPS. If you try to install the wrong one your phone will report an update error - in that case simply try again with the other version.

S60 2nd edition phones include: 3230; 6260; 6600; 6620; 6630; 6670; 6680; 6681; 6682; 7610; N70; N72; N90; SGH-D720; SGH-D730; SGH-Z600; X700; X800

S60 3rd edition phones include: 3250; 5320; 5500; 5700; 6110; 6120; 6121; 6124; 6210; 6220; 6290; 6650; E50; E60; E61; E61i; E62; E65; E66; E70; E90; N71; N73; N75; N76; N77; N78; N80; N81; N82; N91; N92; N93; N95; N95-8GB; N96; Samsung SGH-i520, i400, i450, i550, i560; G810; LG KS10; KT610.

Install the appropriate SIS file using Nokia PC Suite. Do not uninstall the previous version of ViewRanger because this update can be installed over the top of the old version - if you do uninstall you may lose your license keys and settings. There are more detailed instructions in the support FAQ and in the manual. Do not worry if you choose the wrong file or make a mistake, you cannot damage your phone.

The release notes give an overview of the changes since version 2.5, with some details about the main changes. The user manual has been updated to cover the new functionality and the descriptions of some older features have been revised.

The Activate menu item is always available in the menu now. It does not indicate that ViewRanger needs to be activated. It is needed for activating map over-the-air tokens. If ViewRanger needs to be activated it will tell you when it starts and also tell you on the About panel.
