ViewRanger Software
The latest version of the ViewRanger software can be downloaded below. Click on the green bold name to download.
Alternatively, if you have mobile internet access on your phone, you can download the ViewRanger software by pointing your phone's web browser at www.viewranger.com/software
In some browsers you may need to right click on the links and choose Save As.

ViewRanger supports internal, assisted and Bluetooth GPSs.
The current software build number is 2.7.28. The current manual version is 2.7.1 (which covers v2.7.28 of the software).

Installation

Download the appropriate SIS file to your computer. Do not worry if you choose the wrong file or make a mistake, you cannot damage your phone.
To install the software:
  • Connect your phone to your computer using either Bluetooth or USB. Choose PC Suite mode.
  • On the computer go to Nokia PC Suite, Ovi Suite or Samsung PC Studio and choose Install applications.
  • In the left hand pane browse to and highlight the SIS file, then press the central arrow button to send the SIS file to the phone.
  • Follow the instruction panels on the phone.
  • There are more detailed instructions in the user manual and in the support FAQ including instructions if you do not have a PC.
If you get an error message first check you used the right version of ViewRanger for your phone model from the list above.
If you get a message about a certificate problem:
  • Run the phone's App manager, which may be in the Tools, Settings or Applications folder. Choose Options > Settings. Set Software installation to On or All and Online certif. check to Off. Press Back twice to apply the settings and close app manager, then reinstall.
  • Check the date set on your phone using the Clock application.

If you contact us please follow this advice, so we can resolve your query as quickly as possible:
  • Give as precise a description of the problem as possible
  • Tell us which version of ViewRanger you are using and which maps are installed
  • If you have seen a warning or error message, give the exact text of the message
  • If you need a new license key include the phone id as reported on Options > Enter license key and and your serial number. If you do not have your serial number please tell us the names of the map product(s) you bought.
