ViewRanger has paid summer intern opportunities in Marketing and UX design.

These intern roles are based at our HQ in Cambridge, UK, with the Sales & Marketing intern roles based at our office in Bristol.

UX Design: If you are passionate about outdoor activities, such as walking or mountainbiking, and are a wizard at creating simple and efficient user interface experiences with a wow factor - then get in touch.

Job Description - Sales & Marketing Internship

Commercially minded students with language skills and Outdoor Sports passion sought for exciting Mobile App Start-Up.

Reporting to: CMO

Based: Primarily at ViewRanger office in Bristol, some travel to HQ in Cambridge may be necessary.

Key activities

 International Market development – use your language/cultural skills to help us to localise our message as we launch the ViewRanger service into key European markets (Germany, France, Spain)

Outdoor Sports Blogging activity – help us to identify key blogs and bloggers in sports activities relevant to ViewRanger, develop and implement a contact plan.

Community Programmes – identify specific outdoor sports communities, develop and implement a relationship building programme.

Media Presence - Work with our local PR agents in target markets.

Competitor Analysis and Competitive Landscape – evaluate the strengths & weaknesses of competitive apps available in specific markets.

Sales Performance Reporting – monitor and report on sales for each digital channel – ie website, Apple iTunes, Android market, Nokia Ovi market

Carry out other related duties from time to time as required.

Core Requirements

  • English plus outstanding oral and written communication skills in at least one other major European language
  • Good project and time management skills
  • Creative and challenging mindset
  • Ability to think and act clearly and calmly when under pressure
  • Demonstrate good business sense and be motivated by sales sucess
  • Demonstrate the ability to work to tight deadlines and with great attention to detail.
  • Be committed, enthusiastic and self motivated.
  • Have a genuine interest in an Outdoors Pursuit

Previous Experience

  • Demonstrate a real interest and understanding of marketing and especially the use of new media techniques
  • Good business acumen and commercial awareness
  • Show deep understanding of the role of social media and online communities
  • Previous work experience in a related field would be an excellent advantage
