Top spots for Landscape Photography in the UK (Part 1)

BBC Countryfile magazine have shared their best locations for landscape photography in the UK, so we decided to collect our favourite walks in their picture-perfect locations. Here's part 1 - look out for part 2 coming soon! 

 

SNOWDONIA (£)

Locations such as Capel Curig, Ogwen, Llyn Gwynant and Tall-y-Llyn give you views of dramatic mountains mirrored in calm lakes and beautiful misty valleys.

Best for: Photographers looking for dramatic scenery and skies.

BEACHY HEAD (Julia Bradbury Walk)

The contrast of colours of this cliff-side location in East Sussex has inspired many a photographer. Clear sunny days are the best time to capture the different colour variations.

Best for: Striking coastal shots.

YORKSHIRE DALES

The Yorkshire Dales is filled with grassy mountainous terrain, strange ruins and rock formations that punctuate the landscape.

Best for: Rock formations and the rolling green hills.

GIANT'S CAUSEWAY

The honeycomb shapes of Northern Ireland create breath-taking light and shadows with views out to the ocean.

BADBURY HILL

Badbury Hill in Oxfordshire boasts a bluebell woods in the UK, with slender beech trees growing in spring and early summer.

Best for: Lush woodland and contrasts of purple and green.

JURASSIC COAST (£)

The Jurassic Coast’s dramatic bays and cliffs are famous for the fossils that gave it World Heritage Site status.

Best for: Cliffside views, sandy shores and crystal-clear seas.

THE LAKE DISTRICT (Julia Bradbury Walk)

Beautiful all year round, the Lake District has snowscapes in winter, brassy tones in autumn and crisp blue skies in spring and summer.
