Fans of the new primetime ITV series Britain’s Best Walks can follow in presenter Julia Bradbury’s footsteps by downloading free digital route guides from each episode on the ViewRanger app.
The new series showcases six of Julia’s favourite walks around Britain, covering everything from islands, lakes and mountains to countryside, coastal and riverside routes.
Episode one, which airs on Friday 6th January at 8pm, visits the Old Harry Rocks chalk stacks on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast, with views stretching to the Isle of Wight, inland over the Purbeck Countryside, and along miles of golden sandy beaches.
To celebrate the new six-part series, ViewRanger has teamed up with The Outdoor Guide – the official website for Britain’s Best Walks – to create interactive digital guides for each route. They will be available to download for free immediately after each episode from The Outdoor Guide.
Craig Wareham, ViewRanger CEO, said: “We’re delighted to once again be working with The Outdoor Guide to create a fantastic series of routes in some of Britain’s top outdoor locations. Our aim at ViewRanger is to make the outdoors accessible to everyone, and these family-friendly routes are a perfect example of that.
“Simply download them to your phone after each episode, then head outside and start exploring. The app allows you to track your progress on detailed maps and works without phone signal, pointing out the most interesting points along the route as you walk.”
The remaining episodes of Britain’s Best Walks will be screened every Friday for the next five weeks, with Julia visiting Dorset, Yorkshire, Scotland, Cheshire, Devon and the Isle of Man. The aim of the series isn’t just to focus on iconic destinations, but also to uncover hidden gems across a wide variety of landscapes.
Every route Julia walks in the series will be available to download and follow for free in the ViewRanger app, which provides detailed offline mapping, active GPS navigation, and the exciting new Skyline augmented reality feature that allows users to explore the outdoors like never before.
