Calling all Bond film buffs

skyfall.jpgFancy following in Bond’s footsteps – you cannot have missed the fact that the new Bond film Skyfall© opened today 26th October 2012 (in UK) and without giving anything away, you may be interested to know that key scenes in the film were shot in Glencoe, Scotland. With footpaths being closed on the shooting days according to Bond fan site MI6.

Here’s your chance to walk in the star’s footsteps. You can use ViewRanger to view & download a number of expert and community routes in the Glencoe region, plus get the detailed OS maps you need to stay on track.

Here's one created by Scottish walks specialist walkhighlands that takes you up Buachaille Etive Mor, the backdrop for the film scenes. However, we'd recommend that unless you are experienced & well prepared, it might be best to leave the hike for this weekend (and go to see the film instead), as the weather forecast says that its not going to get much above 0°C with a good chance of snow in the region.
